http://www.hotbizsoft.com/?lowlife

He would then copy and paste that Affiliate ID into his browser and just like that, make the buy and your affiliate commissions are gone.

Now of course in this instance, Mr. Low Life could just as easily go to Hot Biz Software’s main web site without your Affiliate ID anyway (because you've freely displayed the merchant's URL), but in this instance, you spent the time writing the review, gave Low Life the tips and advice to buy and probably even pointed him to the exact page he could buy from.

In this instance, Low Life happens to be an affiliate of the same network you are (Commission Junction in this case), so by replacing your Affiliate ID with his own, he’s effectively buying the product you suggested at a discount. Instead of replacing your Affiliate link with his, he simply will cut your affiliate link off of the main merchant domain, then paste it into his browser.
